THE HISTORY OF THE ROLLING BEAD

The Rolling Bead was established in 2000. Pat Reynolds, the proprietor, has been creating beaded projects for over 15 years. Our store carries the largest inventory of merchandise in Central Pennsylvania, and specializes in Japanese made seed beads, Swarovski crystals, semi-precious beads, locally made flame-worked beads, and the finest tools, needles, and thread available to the consumer at an affordable price.

Pat Reynolds joined The Embroiderers' Guild of America in 1994, beginning with the local Carlisle chapter, The Molly Pitcher Stitchers. She was elected the Mid-Atlantic Region secretary in 1997, serving for two years. From 1999 to 2001, she served as assistant region director. She was elected director in 2001, serving for two years.

She joined the Northern Virginia Bead Society, the Washington, D.C. Bead Society and the Eastern Pennsylvania Bead Society in 2001.

Reynolds has taught off-loom beading techniques in seven states for 35 EGA chapters. She has also taught techniques to the National Board of Directors for EGA on three separate occasions.

She was appointed National Education Programs Services chairman for EGA, serving from 2003-05. She was elected national education director in 2007. Reynolds was also chairman of the Master Craftsman Beading Program from 2001-07.
